I love how in on this movie everybody seems to be. Obviously Barbie is Barbie and there will be hardos out there that will see this and immediately fire up G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra on Blu-ray but anyone who sees the talent involved in this movie and doesn’t see the genius in this teaser is just being silly. Margot Robbie is arguably the biggest actress in the world right now and this will undeniably be a box office sensation. Throw in Ryan Gosling, Will Ferrell, Kate McKinnon, Simu Liu, and America Ferrera with Greta Gerwig at the helm and this is without a doubt going to be one of the most anticipated films of 2023.

In my opinion, this is a perfect teaser. It offered us practically nothing but gave us an incredible 2001: A Space Odyssey knock-off while getting glimpses of Robbie, Gosling, and Liu. Whatever this movie is actually about there’s no doubt it’s going to be fun. Everything we’ve seen so far from the costumes, the production design, Ryan Gosling’s hair, and Ryan Gosling’s abs actually have me way more excited for this than I ever thought I would be. Those involved with the film, particularly its stars, have spoken publicly multiple times about how this script was one of the best things they’ve ever read and I would imagine those people see a fair amount of quality scripts.

Now all we need is the trailer for Oppenheimer to drop. There’s one playing before select screenings of Avatar: The Way of Water but that bad Larry needs to find its way online yesterday. Both that and Barbie come out on the same weekend in July so it is going to be a wild weekend at the theater.
